I still call "16 Students You Meet in College" my baby. We always had down time in the year because students are typically only looking for textbooks twice a year. I realized we needed to release content to stay on their minds. In a rush of excitement, I wrote, illustrated, and designed this piece in 2 hours. It raised brand awareness across the Internet, going viral on several platforms such as 9GAG and Tumblr, and went on to earn me a certification with Visual.ly to become an infographic designer. I also knew we needed to relate to students to get their attention. No one wants to buy textbooks. We had to get on the same page. I wrote the slogan "We don't make textbooks boring. We just make them cheap." to show college students that we understand. The response was overwhelmingly positive as our boxes, posters, bookmarks, and ads were shared all over social media.
I was also able to work on a lot of email marketing for eCampus.com. We saw an increase in sales of over 300% year-to-year from when it became a shared responsibility for accounts and creative, instead of only the former.
